A Personal Learning Experience

As a learner I must admit that my experience here at the University has been very rich in terms of what I have learnt. I must say that I don not attend very often as I would like because of my job, but I read and study all the lectures at home, every class gives me an answer to all my doubts I have had since more than 3 years, which is the time that I have been teaching English. As I mentioned before, I studied Translation English-Spanish (and some German) in another university and that became me in a fond of the languages, the variations of them, the contrasts, grammar and specially I love to speak them. All those characteristics plus my experience abroad helped me to find job as a teacher, but that was not enough to TEACH. I was always having questions on my mind of how, what or when to teach every subject....Now I know that those are the bases od curriculum (finally!) and now I know that there is a time to expose students to the language and then to teach, when and how.
Of course that has helped me a lot doing my job, doing my annual and class by class planifications, now is easier and more relaxing to me planify and teach because I know that what I am teaching is the right thing on the right time and that nobody could question my work because I am following the rules that a teacher should follow.
Personally, I can not say that I have worked in groups...I just work and share ideas with my partner Claudia Jara, who is my age more or less and has worked as a teacher many years just like me. We try to clarify each other`s doubts and share the materials. And maybe is because the difference of ages or the freedom that we have to chose our partners what has not let me work with the rest of the class, I know them but have never had the chance to work with them.
According to "group work", that is something that I have included just this year in my job as a teacher, I did not know how to manage the groups or the aim of making them work in groups, but now I feel more confident on doing that and it is becoming funner specially with the little ones, cause are the ones who more enjoy and seem to be more willfull to do any activity proposed by the teacher.
Well, that is my own experience. Hope I had approached the goal you meant to.
